A specialist independent school in Stockport is looking to appoint an enthusiastic and committed Maths Teacher to join their dedicated team on an immediate basis.
This is an exciting opportunity for a Maths Teacher who is passionate about supporting young people with SEND, autism and SEMH needs and wants to make a genuine difference to pupils who may have experienced challenges within mainstream education.
The RoleAs a Maths Teacher, you will be responsible for delivering engaging and accessible Maths lessons to pupils aged 11-16, adapting your teaching to meet individual needs and helping students build confidence in their learning.
You will:
*Plan and deliver high-quality Maths lessons.
*Adapt teaching and learning to meet individual SEND and SEMH needs.
*Support pupils to make progress against their individual learning outcomes.
*Create a positive, nurturing and inclusive classroom environment.
*Develop positive relationships with pupils and help build their confidence and self-esteem.
*Work closely with teaching and therapeutic staff to support pupils holistically.
*Contribute to assessment, tracking and curriculum development.
*Help prepare pupils for future education, employment and independent living.
The SchoolThe school is a specialist therapeutic setting supporting pupils with autism and SEMH needs, alongside associated needs including ADHD, sensory processing difficulties, anxiety and gaps in prior learning.
The school places a strong emphasis on creating a safe and supportive environment where pupils can re-engage with education. Teaching is tailored to individual EHCPs, with academic, vocational and life-skills learning forming part of the wider curriculum.
The Ideal CandidateThe successful candidate will ideally:
*Have QTS or relevant teaching experience.
*Have experience teaching Maths at secondary level.
*Have experience working with, or a strong interest in supporting, pupils with SEND/SEMH.
*Be confident adapting lessons to individual needs.
*Have excellent classroom management and relationship-building skills.
*Be patient, resilient and passionate about helping young people succeed.
*Work effectively as part of a wider multidisciplinary team.
This role can be offered on either a temporary-to-permanent or permanent basis, with an immediate start available.
