Location: Cambridge
Salary: £35-40,000
A respected, well-established planning consultancy in Cambridge is looking to add a Town Planner to its team. The role offers the chance to take on real responsibility across a varied and interesting workload, working alongside experienced colleagues who will support your progression towards chartership and beyond.
The role*Prepare planning statements, appraisals and supporting documents for a range of projects, from straightforward schemes to larger, more complex developments
*Draft and submit planning applications and appeals, and monitor their progress through to decision
*Advise clients at every stage of the planning and development process
*Assess the planning potential of new development opportunities
*Carry out planning policy research and analysis to support project strategy
*Contribute to community engagement and consultation activities
*Attend committee meetings, public examinations, site visits and client meetings
*Help to shape fee proposals and project scopes
Requirements*A degree in Town Planning or a related subject, ideally RTPI-accredited
*Previous planning experience, whether in consultancy or the public sector
*A genuine passion for planning and a proactive, ambitious approach to your career
*Strong written and verbal communication skills
*Excellent organisation and attention to detail
*The ability to manage your own caseload and meet deadlines
*A collaborative attitude and confidence working as part of a team
*A commitment to working towards chartership, if not already chartered
