My client is a leading global safety technology business operating as a key unit within a prestigious FTSE 100 group. Specialised in manufacturing critical safety systems for high-risk, harsh operational environments, they operate across multiple international sites. Based out of North West London, they are looking to hire a sharp, commercially minded Finance Manager to take ownership of month-end operations and drive financial controls.
The Role
Reporting directly to the Head of Finance, this position manages a team of three and sits at the center of daily finance activities. You will take complete ownership of the month-end close process while acting as a key commercial partner to operational departments across the business.
Key responsibilities include:
*Leading and mentoring a team of three junior finance staff across core general ledger, AP, and AR functions.
*Owning the month-end close process, ensuring all journals, reconciliations, accruals, and prepayments are completed accurately.
*Partnering with heads of department to provide financial insight, challenge assumptions, and support business performance.
*Managing monthly management reporting, variance analysis, and key performance trends for senior stakeholders.
*Overseeing Group consolidation reporting and assisting with rolling monthly forecasts and annual budgeting.
*Maintaining robust financial controls and acting as the primary point of contact for external audits.#
Your Profile
To excel in this role, you will be a qualified finance professional with experience in fast-paced commercial environments and a track record of effective team leadership.
Essential criteria:
*Fully qualified accountant (ACA, ACCA, CIMA, or equivalent).
*Proven experience managing or supervising junior finance staff.
*Strong background in fast-paced commercial settings (manufacturing or engineering experience is advantageous, though not essential).
*Hands-on expertise across month-end routines, balance sheet controls, and group reporting.
*Available at short notice or currently on a brief notice period.
*Confident communicator with the gravitas to business partner across non-finance departments.
Salary & Benefits
*Salary: £65,000 - £70,000 per annum
*Working Model: Hybrid model with 3 days per week on-site in North West London (Hendon/Kingsbury area with free on-site parking)
*Package: Full corporate benefits package backed by a FTSE 100 group, with strong career development prospects
