Reed Practice are delighted to be partnering with a highly respected accountancy firm in Suffolk, seeking a Senior Accountant to join their expanding team. With a strong reputation built over many decades and a progressive approach to client service, this is an excellent opportunity to join a firm that combines heritage, stability, and modern ways of working.
This role offers a varied portfolio, significant client exposure, and the opportunity to play a key role in supporting the continued growth of the practice.
The Opportunity: As a Senior Accountant, you will manage a diverse range of clients, build long-term relationships while delivering high-quality accounting and tax services. You will act as a trusted adviser, helping businesses across multiple sectors achieve their financial objectives.
Key responsibilities include:
*Preparation and review of statutory accounts for a broad range of clients
*Preparation of business tax computations, partnership returns, and personal tax returns
*Acting as the primary point of contact for clients and providing ongoing support and advice
*Managing and developing a portfolio of clients
*Identifying opportunities to add value and maximise client profitability
*Supporting and mentoring junior team members where required
*Assisting with audit and assurance assignments (experience beneficial but not essential)
About You: We’re keen to speak with candidates who have a strong background within accountancy practice and enjoy working closely with clients.
You will ideally have:
*AAT qualified as a minimum, with ACA or ACCA qualification advantageous
*Previous experience within an accountancy practice environment
*Experience preparing accounts for limited companies, sole traders and partnerships
*Good working knowledge of VAT, payroll, corporate tax and personal tax
*Strong understanding of UK accounting standards and financial reporting requirements
*Excellent communication skills and a proactive approach to client service
*Audit experience would be welcomed, but is not essential
