Director of Data
Remote (UK) | Salary up to £150,000 + Benefits

The Role
*Define and lead the organisation’s data research strategy in partnership with senior leadership.
*Drive the discovery, assessment, and development of new data products and KPI tracking methodologies.
*Lead complex research initiatives from hypothesis generation through to evidence-based recommendations.
*Evaluate diverse structured and unstructured datasets to identify commercial opportunities.
*Establish and maintain high standards for data evaluation, statistical analysis, and technical excellence.
*Improve processes to increase the speed and accuracy of data source assessments.
*Partner with data acquisition teams to support data purchasing and investment decisions.
*Lead, mentor, and grow a team of highly skilled data professionals.
*Build a scalable research function that supports long-term business objectives.
*Promote the effective use of AI and automation to enhance research quality and efficiency.
Your Skills & Experience
*Strong commercial experience leading data science, data research, analytics, or statistical research teams.
*Deep expertise in statistical analysis, data modelling, and working with complex real-world datasets.
*Advanced Python and SQL skills with the ability to review and challenge technical work.
*Experience designing and leading open-ended research programmes from concept to delivery.
*Proven ability to develop technical standards and improve team performance.
*Strong stakeholder management skills with the ability to communicate complex findings to non-technical audiences.
*Experience balancing technical decision-making with commercial objectives.
*Comfortable operating in fast-paced, evolving environments.
*Exposure to alternative data, financial data, market intelligence, or investment research is advantageous.
*Experience applying AI tools to research, analytics, or data quality workflows is beneficial.
