Full job descriptionSenior Town Planner
Location: London
Salary: £45,000 - £55,000
A multidisciplinary consultancy offering a broad range of planning and architectural services across the industrial, commercial, residential and mixed-use sectors is looking to expand its London team. They are seeking a skilled and experienced Senior Town Planner to join them at an exciting stage of growth.

Key responsibilities of the Senior Town Planner:
*Delivering strategic and detailed planning advice to clients and project teams
*Carrying out planning appraisals and highlighting development opportunities and constraints
*Shaping and delivering planning strategies across a variety of development schemes
*Overseeing the preparation and submission of full, outline and hybrid planning applications
*Coordinating multidisciplinary project teams and external consultants
*Engaging and negotiating with local planning authorities and other stakeholders
*Handling planning conditions, amendments, variations and associated submissions
*Assisting with, and where suitable leading, planning appeals
*Providing advice on Section 106 agreements and related planning obligations
*Drafting representations on development plans and emerging planning policy
*Helping to promote sites through the plan-making process
Requirements for the Senior Town Planner:
*An RTPI-accredited degree in Town Planning or a closely related discipline
*Chartered RTPI membership, or actively working towards it
*Substantial experience within a planning consultancy, development company, architectural practice or similar setting
*Sound understanding of the UK planning system and the development management process
*Track record of managing planning applications from initial concept through to determination
*Experience in commercial, industrial, logistics, employment or mixed-use projects would be an advantage
*Ability to shape clear, commercially realistic planning strategies
*Experience leading multidisciplinary teams and external consultants
*Confidence engaging with local planning authorities and other stakeholders
*Excellent written and verbal communication skills
*Strong organisational and project management skills
*Able to work independently while contributing positively to a collaborative team
*A commercial mindset with a good grasp of clients’ development goals
