Client Details
My client is a large NfP organisation based in Central Cardiff
Description
Reporting to the CFO, The HOF will play a vital role in the Management of the Financial Operations of this large NfP organisation.
This is a fantastic opportunity to work with some of the worlds best and make a real impact in the future of the finance department.
The role will include;
Leadership & Team Management
· Lead, develop, coach and mentor the finance team.
· Conduct regular performance and development reviews.
· Promote an inclusive, high-performing and continuous improvement culture.
· Support agile working arrangements balancing organisational and individual needs.
Financial Reporting & Accounts
· Ensure accurate accounting records in compliance with UK GAAP and relevant regulations.
· Deliver timely monthly and annual accounts.
· Prepare financial reports and commentary for the Board and committees.
· Advise on changes to financial reporting standards and regulatory requirements.
Governance & Internal Controls
· Maintain robust financial controls and compliance processes.
· Review and update Financial Regulations and Delegations.
· Promote value for money, fraud awareness and regulatory compliance.
Financial Planning & Analysis
· Lead annual budgeting and five-year forecasting processes.
· Monitor rolling cash flow forecasts and banking covenant compliance.
· Support strategic financial planning and decision making.
· Work with budget holders to develop and monitor budgets.
Payroll & Pensions
· Oversee payroll delivery and compliance with HMRC requirements.
· Support administration of pension schemes and statutory obligations.
Other Responsibilities
· Ensure VAT and taxation compliance.
· Manage investments, treasury and endowment funds.
· Coordinate internal and external audits.
· Prepare regulatory returns including
· Support insurance administration and risk management.
Profile
*Qualified accountant (ACA, ACCA, CIMA or equivalent) with post-qualification experience.
*Strong track record of leading and developing finance teams.
*Excellent understanding of governance, audit, financial controls and risk management.
*Experience overseeing payroll services.
*Excellent communication, influencing and stakeholder management skills.
*Experience leading budgeting and business planning processes.
*Advanced Excel and financial systems expertise.
*Commitment to diversity, equality and inclusion.
*Welsh language skills desirable.
Job Offer
Salary up to £67500
39 days annual leave + Bank holidays + 4 close days at Christmas
up to 10% defined contribution pension
