Prospero Teaching is recruiting a Cover Supervisor for a mainstream secondary school in Bushey, near Watford. This full-time opportunity would suit someone confident working with young people and managing a classroom.
You will supervise lessons when teachers are absent, explain the work provided and help pupils stay focused. Clear communication, consistent behaviour management and a calm approach are essential.
Your responsibilities:
*Supervise classes across a range of secondary subjects.
*Deliver instructions for work set by the class teacher.
*Maintain a positive learning environment and follow the school’s behaviour policy.
*Support pupils with different learning needs, including SEND.
*Provide feedback to teaching staff on behaviour and completed work.
We’re looking for:
*Experience working with young people, ideally in a school, mentoring, coaching or youth-work setting.
*Confidence leading a classroom and building positive relationships.
*Strong organisation, reliability and communication skills.
*Availability for full-time work and an ASAP start.
Experience as a Cover Supervisor, Teaching Assistant or Learning Support Assistant would be relevant.
