Our client is a leading UK construction and infrastructure contractor with a proven track record of delivering complex projects across the energy, water, rail, highways, nuclear and defence sectors. Operating nationwide, the business is recognised for its engineering expertise, strong safety culture and successful delivery of critical infrastructure for both public and private sector clients.
Your new role
As a Site Manager, you’ll be working on a major substation infrastructure project within a highly regulated environment, taking responsibility for the safe and efficient delivery of construction activities on site. Your day-to-day will include:
*Managing day-to-day site operations, ensuring works are delivered safely, on programme, and to the required quality standards
*Coordinating subcontractors, suppliers, and site teams to maintain productivity and achieve key project milestones
*Ensuring full compliance with health, safety, environmental, and quality requirements, promoting a positive safety culture across the project
*Monitoring site progress, identifying risks and implementing effective solutions to minimise delays and maximise performance
*Managing site documentation, permits, inspections, and reporting requirements to ensure project compliance
*Working closely with the engineering, commercial, and project management teams to support successful project delivery
What you’ll need to succeed - You must have SR 163 National Grid Authorisation.
*Proven experience working as a Site Manager on major infrastructure, power, utilities, civil engineering - experience within power, transmission & distribution, substations, renewable energy, or other regulated infrastructure environments would be highly advantageous
*A strong track record of managing subcontractors and coordinating multiple work activities within a live construction environment
*Experience delivering projects safely whilst maintaining programme targets, quality standards, and environmental compliance
*Strong leadership and communication skills, with the ability to build effective relationships with site teams, clients, and key stakeholders
*Relevant site management qualifications such as SMSTS, CSCS, and First Aid
