A hands-on Finance Manager role where no two days are the same.
Robert Half is exclusively representing a well-established, owner-managed manufacturing business in Sutton Coldfield as they appoint a Finance Manager to take ownership of the day-to-day finance function and lead a small team.
This is a role for someone who enjoys being close to the numbers and close to the business. You’ll have genuine ownership across the finance function, working closely with the Managing Director and getting involved across management accounts, forecasting, stock, costs and commercial performance.

The role
You will take responsibility for the day-to-day running of finance, managing a small team and ensuring the business has accurate, timely financial information to support decision-making.
Key responsibilities will include:
*Preparing accurate and insightful monthly management accounts
*Managing budgets, forecasts and financial planning
*Taking ownership of inventory accounting and stock control
*Managing and understanding WIP and cost of sales
*Analysing margins and profitability
*Providing the Managing Director with clear and reliable financial information
*Supporting the business with financial analysis and decision-making
*Managing and developing a small finance team
*Ensuring robust financial controls and accurate reporting are maintained
What we’re looking for
The successful candidate is likely to have:
*Previous experience in a Finance Manager or similar hands-on finance role
*Strong manufacturing finance experience
*A thorough understanding of inventory, stock control and WIP
*Strong knowledge of margin analysis and cost of sales
*Proven experience preparing management accounts, budgets and forecasts
*The confidence and capability to work closely with an owner/Managing Director
*A hands-on approach and willingness to get into the detail
*Ideally ACA, ACCA or CIMA qualified; strong QBE candidates will also be considered

Location: Sutton Coldfield - excellent access to the M42
