Are You Passionate About Supporting Young People?Tradewind Recruitment are currently looking for a Secondary School Support Worker to join a welcoming secondary school in the Kettering area.
This is a fantastic opportunity for someone who enjoys working with young people and wants to make a positive difference to their education, confidence and emotional wellbeing.
We are particularly interested in hearing from individuals with experience in support work, mental health, SEN/SEND, behaviour support, youth work or care, who are looking to transfer their skills into a school environment.
You don’t necessarily need previous school experience, but you will need to be patient, resilient and confident supporting young people with a range of needs.
The RoleAs a Secondary School Support Worker, your responsibilities will include:
*Providing 1:1 and small-group support to secondary-aged students
*Supporting young people with additional learning, social and emotional needs
*Helping students overcome barriers to learning
*Supporting students who may struggle with behaviour, confidence or emotional regulation
*Building positive and trusting relationships with young people
*Encouraging independence, resilience and engagement with education
*Using positive behaviour management and de-escalation strategies
*Supporting students within lessons and during targeted interventions
*Working closely with teachers, SEN staff and pastoral teams
*Helping to create a safe, supportive and inclusive school environment
Who Are We Looking For?We would love to hear from candidates who have experience in any of the following areas:
*Support Worker or Care Worker roles
*Mental Health Support
*SEN/SEND or SEMH settings
*Teaching Assistant or Learning Support roles
*Youth Work or Mentoring
*Children’s Residential Care
*Behaviour Support
*Pastoral Support
*Social Care
*Psychology or Counselling backgrounds
The ideal candidate will:
*Have experience supporting children, young people or vulnerable individuals
*Have a good understanding of emotional wellbeing and additional support needs
*Be calm, patient and resilient when dealing with challenging situations
*Be confident building relationships and maintaining clear boundaries
*Have strong communication and interpersonal skills
*Be reliable, enthusiastic and committed to supporting young people
*Be available for full-time work in Kettering
