ABOUT THE CLIENT
We’re supporting an established global IT services organisation looking for an experienced Break Fix Engineer to join their team on a contract basis. This is a fantastic opportunity for someone with strong hands-on hardware repair experience who enjoys working independently and providing excellent customer service.
THE BREAK FIX ENGINEER ROLE
As a Break Fix Engineer, you’ll be responsible for diagnosing, troubleshooting, maintaining and repairing desktop and laptop devices, including All-in-One (AiO) computers.
You’ll be travelling to customer sites across North and North West London, providing hands-on technical support and ensuring hardware issues are resolved efficiently.
Your responsibilities will include:
*Diagnosing and repairing laptop, desktop and AiO hardware faults
*Installing, maintaining and troubleshooting IT equipment
*Providing excellent customer service and resolving technical issues
*Managing daily communications via phone, voicemail and email
*Maintaining accurate service records and administrative updates
*Following parts management processes and service procedures
*Escalating technical issues where necessary to ensure effective resolution
*Maintaining tools and diagnostic equipment
BREAK FIX ENGINEER ESSENTIAL SKILLS
*Minimum 3 years’ experience diagnosing and repairing laptops and desktops
*Strong hardware troubleshooting, diagnostics and component replacement experience
*Experience providing customer-facing technical support
*Confident working independently and managing your own workload
*Full, valid driving licence with a good driving record
*Willingness to travel extensively across North and North West London, potentially exceeding 50% of the working day
*Ability to lift and carry equipment weighing up to 25kg
*Strong communication, organisation and problem-solving skills
