Full job descriptionAn organisation in Telford is looking for an experienced Interim Finance Business Partner to provide commercial and analytical support across multiple business areas. This role is critical in driving financial performance, improving resource management, and delivering actionable insights to senior leaders. You will play a key role in shaping the organisation’s financial strategy while supporting operational efficiency and sustainable growth.
Key Responsibilities:
*Work closely with senior leaders and stakeholders to deliver clear, relevant financial information that supports effective decision-making and drives performance improvements.
*Manage annual budgeting cycles and monthly reforecasting processes, ensuring alignment with organisational goals and priorities.
*Collaborate with the Data & Analytics team to create advanced KPI dashboards and detailed financial trend analyses that inform both operational and strategic planning.
*Support budget holders in identifying cost-saving initiatives and income-generating opportunities, ensuring these align with broader organisational objectives.
*Provide expert advice on business cases, ensuring financial viability before submission.
*Promote financial literacy by coaching stakeholders at all levels, enabling informed decision-making across the organisation.
*Contribute to medium- and long-term financial strategies to ensure sustainability and adaptability in changing environments.
*Prepare comprehensive monthly finance reports, engage with external auditors as required, and ensure compliance with internal policies and procedures.
*Lead and support direct reports through all aspects of their employee lifecycle, fostering a positive and inclusive working environment.
What You Bring:
To excel in this role, you will bring a combination of technical expertise, strong interpersonal skills, and a proactive approach to problem-solving:
*Qualified Accountant (CIMA, ACCA, ICAEW) or significant relevant experience (QBE).
*Proven track record in financial analysis, budgeting processes, forecasting activities, and partnering with senior leaders within complex organisations.
*Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel and familiarity with other financial reporting tools; ability to translate complex data into actionable insights.
*Experience working effectively with internal teams (e.g., finance departments, audit managers) as well as engaging external contacts such as HMRC or professional advisors.
*Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to coach stakeholders on financial literacy topics while building trust-based relationships across diverse teams.
*Experience leading or mentoring team members in a supportive environment that values inclusivity and collaboration.
*A commitment to enhancing resource allocation practices while supporting cost-saving initiatives aligned with organisational goals.
