About the OpportunityA welcoming and supportive primary school in Northampton is seeking a dedicated Year 3 Teacher to join their team from November 2026 on a long-term maternity cover contract.
This is an exciting opportunity to take on a well-established Year 3 class and play a key role in supporting pupils as they continue their journey through Key Stage 2. The school is looking for a passionate and committed teacher who can deliver engaging lessons, maintain high expectations, and create a positive classroom environment where every child can thrive.
The successful candidate will join a collaborative staff team and benefit from strong support from the school’s leadership and wider teaching team.
Key Responsibilities*Plan and deliver engaging, creative, and well-structured lessons for a Year 3 class

*Deliver the Key Stage 2 curriculum effectively across core and foundation subjects

*Monitor, assess, and track pupil progress, adapting teaching to meet individual needs

*Create a positive, inclusive, and stimulating classroom environment

*Maintain high expectations for behaviour, learning, and pupil achievement

*Support pupils’ academic, social, and emotional development

*Work collaboratively with teaching assistants, colleagues, and school leadership

*Communicate effectively with parents and carers

*Contribute positively to the wider life of the school

The Ideal Candidate*Holds Qualified Teacher Status (QTS)

*Has experience teaching in Key Stage 2, ideally within Year 3

*Has strong knowledge of the primary curriculum

*Is confident in planning and delivering engaging, differentiated lessons

*Has excellent classroom and behaviour management skills

*Is organised, enthusiastic, and committed to raising pupil achievement

*Can build strong and positive relationships with pupils, colleagues, and parents

*Is able to commit to a long-term maternity cover position from November
