Hours: 25 hours per week, Monday to Friday
Working hours: 7:00am-9:00am and 2:45pm-5:45pm
Contract: Long-term supply, with the potential to become permanent
Start date: ASAP
Tradewind Recruitment are currently recruiting for a Site Supervisor / Caretaker to join a welcoming primary school in the S21 area of Chesterfield on a long-term basis.
This is an open vacancy and could provide an excellent opportunity for the right candidate to secure a permanent position within the school.
The RoleThe successful Site Supervisor / Caretaker will be responsible for helping to ensure the school premises are safe, secure and well maintained throughout the day.
The role will involve opening the school each morning at 7:00am, ensuring the site is ready for the school day, and then returning in the afternoon to help close and secure the school at the end of the day.
Working hours are:
*Monday to Friday
*7:00am-9:00am
*2:45pm-5:45pm
*25 hours per week
Key Responsibilities*Opening and securing the school premises
*Carrying out routine site checks
*Ensuring the school site is safe, clean and secure
*Reporting maintenance issues and arranging repairs where required
*Supporting with general site and premises duties
*Setting up and moving equipment when required
*Carrying out basic maintenance tasks
*Ensuring the school is secure at the end of the school day
*Supporting the school with any other reasonable site-related duties
The Ideal CandidateThe school are looking for someone who has previous experience working as a Site Supervisor, Caretaker, Premises Assistant or in a similar role.
You will need to be reliable, practical and able to work independently. Experience working within a school or other educational setting would be advantageous, although candidates with relevant premises, facilities or caretaking experience will also be considered.
The successful candidate will need to:
*Have previous experience in a site, caretaking, premises or facilities role
*Be reliable, punctual and responsible
*Have a practical approach to problem solving
*Be confident working independently
*Have good communication skills
*Be able to commit to the full Monday-Friday working pattern
*Have a strong understanding of site security and health and safety
SafeguardingAs the role is based within a primary school, the successful candidate will be required to undergo full safeguarding and vetting checks in line with Keeping Children Safe in Education (KCSIE).
This will include an Enhanced DBS check, suitable references and the necessary employment and safeguarding checks before commencing work.
