Full job descriptionAre you an experienced Management Accountant with strong technical accounting skills and experience supporting finance systems implementations? Are you looking for an opportunity to combine management accounting responsibilities with an exciting finance transformation project?
Robertson Bell are supporting a well-established organisation to recruit a Management Accountant on a 12-month fixed-term contract. This fully remote opportunity offers a varied role, with approximately 60% of your time supporting a major finance systems implementation and the remaining 40% focused on management accounting and business partnering.
Working alongside an established project team, you will play a key role in supporting the transition to a new finance system, whilst ensuring the continued delivery of accurate financial reporting and analysis.
The key responsibilities include:
*Supporting the implementation of a new finance system, assisting the project team with system testing, user acceptance testing (UAT) and financial reconciliations.

*Working closely with the project lead and wider finance team to support a smooth transition from the existing finance system.

*Assisting with data validation, identifying discrepancies and ensuring financial information is accurately transferred between systems.

*Producing and reviewing monthly management accounts for the organisation’s central support functions, including Finance, HR, IT, Data and Legal.

*Investigating variances, analysing financial performance and providing clear commentary to support decision-making.

*Preparing and posting journals, ensuring accurate double-entry accounting and maintaining the integrity of financial records.

*Building relationships with approximately 10 budget holders, holding monthly meetings and responding to financial queries.

The successful candidate will have:
*Proven experience in a Management Accountant or similar role, with strong double-entry accounting knowledge and an understanding of financial controls.

*Charity experience is highly desirable.
*Previous involvement in a finance systems implementation or transition, ideally including testing, reconciliations or data migration. Experience leading a project is not required.

*Strong analytical skills, with the ability to investigate variances and understand the underlying transactions behind management accounts.

*Confidence working with budget holders and communicating financial information to non-finance stakeholders.

*Excellent attention to detail and the ability to work independently in a fully remote environment.

*A recognised accounting qualification or be working towards one, although candidates qualified by experience will also be considered.

Experience within the charity sector would be advantageous but is not essential.
This opportunity offers fully remote working, with occasional team meetings where required. You will join a supportive finance team and contribute to a significant systems transformation without needing to take ownership of the overall project.
