Prospero Teaching is excited to announce an opportunity for a dedicated Design and Technology Teacher to join a secondary school in the Southport area. You will have a vital role that involves classroom teaching and curriculum development, with a strong emphasis on safety, creativity, and student progress.
Design and Technology Teacher
Location: Southport
Start Date: As soon as possible
Contract Type: Temporary, Long Term
Working Hours: Full-time, 8:00 am - 4:00 pm
Pay: Paid to scale
Key Responsibilities:
*Plan and deliver engaging lessons
*Adapt lessons for a wide range of abilities and learning needs
*Provide clear demonstrations and structured activities
*Mark work, give constructive feedback, and track pupil progress
*Ensure all equipment is safe, clean, and ready for use
*Maintain high standards of food hygiene and safety
*Supervise students closely during practical sessions to ensure safe working practices
Requirements:
*Qualified Teacher Status (QTS).
*Proven experience teaching in a UK secondary school.
*Up-to-date Safeguarding training (desirable, but not essential as training can be provided).
*Right to Work in the UK.
*Enhanced child barred list DBS certificate registered with the online update service, or willingness to apply for a new one.
*Ability to provide references that cover at least 24 months worked and where possible 2 roles where you have worked with children
