Job Description:
Full job descriptionThis FMCG manufacturing business is part of a global group that works closely with its customers to provide innovative products. The UK division has grown organically in recent years and is now restructuring to consolidate other sites into their Lancashire operation. As part of this process they are looking to strengthen the finance department with the addition of an experienced Financial Controller to manage a team, provide MI to support decision making and maintain an effective financial control environment. The role would suit an individual with previous experience of going through change, preferably in a fast paced multisite manufacturing environment. The key responsibilities for this position will include:
*Management of a small team responsible for AP, AR and production of management accounts
*Monthly reporting of full MI, including variance analysis and balance sheet reconciliation
*Review and analysis of performance against budget and strategic plan
*Financial review and reporting on CAPEX investments and business related projects
*Management of working capital and cashflow
*Identify operational efficiency and cost reduction opportunities
*Developing and maintaining KPI dashboards
*Implement and maintain financial controls and process improvement
*Ownership of budgeting and forecasting
*First contact point for auditors and external advisors
*Building credible relationships with internal and external stakeholders
*Developing ad hoc reports and analysis when required
System implementation and improvement experience would be highly beneficial to this role as they have recently gone live with a new ERP system so there will be an ongoing need to develop and improve reporting to suit the needs of the business. Extensive data analysis experience coupled with strong technical knowledge would be highly advantageous along with the ability to confidently communicate financial concepts to colleagues at all levels in the organisation. Applicants for this role must be CIMA/ACCA or ACA qualified with previous experience at Financial Controller / Finance Manager level, ideally gained within a decent size manufacturing / plant environment.
