Job Description:
Full job descriptionWe are supporting a leading defence organisation with the
appointment of an Equipment Requirement Authority to join its
Weapon Systems Equipment team. This role would suit a Systems or
Design Engineer looking to move into technical project
management, requirements management and certification within a
complex engineering environment.
Typical responsibilities include:
* Managing the technical status and progression of assigned
engineering work packages
* Defining clear and accurate equipment requirements and ensuring
effective flow down into internal and external design teams
* Working with national and international Design Authorities to
develop technical solutions and manage technical trades
* Developing verification and validation strategies across
electrical, mechanical, software and wider system properties
* Preparing certification evidence and facilitating the exchange
of technical information between suppliers and procurement teams
The ideal candidate will have:
* An understanding of engineering design processes and their
application
* Knowledge of high-integrity hardware, networking technologies,
custom electronics or complex mechanical design
* Experience managing a small team or previous team leadership
experience
* The ability to work with internal and external stakeholders to
define technical solutions
* An understanding of commercial, military and safety standards
relevant to engineering development
