Admin Officer
Location: Chelmsford, CM2-0PP Monday-Friday 9am-5pm Pay rate:£12.86ph
If you enjoy delivering a calm, helpful service-and you take pride in getting details right-this is a great opportunity to support the smooth running of Chelmsford County Court. Our Client is hiring for an Admin Officer, where your work helps cases move forward, documents are accurate, and customers receive a "right first time" experience.
What you’ll be doing:
* Prepare papers, files and court/tribunal documentation for hearings, meetings and requests
* Create and update records on an in-house computer system, ensuring data input is accurate
* Support post opening and dispatch, including organising meetings and preparing agendas and joining instructions
* Clerking civil and family courts/tribunals: checking papers and materials are up to date and ready
* Assist court users through face-to-face, written and telephone enquiries-delivering prompt, polite support
* Contact relevant parties, schedule activity, and carry out document serving and administrative enforcement tasks
* Process casework with standard documentation, including court orders, claims, fines and fees
* Check and verify documents, records, accounts and returns against criteria and procedures
* Collect, assemble and interpret information to support daily Team Information Board (TIB) meetings
* Produce basic statistical analysis reports and complete straightforward financial processing where required
* Work as part of a team to contribute to continuous improvement and problem-solving within set processes

* Careful attention to detail-especially when checking, updating and verifying information
* A positive, "right first time" mindset, working to throughput and accuracy expectations
* Willingness to use discretion and initiative within guidelines and procedures
* Team orientation, with respect for guidance-complex issues are escalated to a team leader or supervisor
Additional information:
* You’ll work in a flexible way across the office and may occasionally be required to work at other local offices in the Chelmsford area on an ad hoc basis
* You may have regular contact with court/tribunal users, including members of the Judiciary and the legal profession
If you’re successful in your application a Basic DBS will be required as part of the on-boarding checks with Brook Street.
