Admin Officer
Location:Basildon, SS14-2BU Monday- Friday 9am-5pm Pay Rate: £12.86ph

If you’re someone who takes pride in "right first time" administration, enjoys helping people, and wants to play a visible role in how justice runs day to day, this could be the next step for you. Hiring for an Admin Officer, you’ll support courts and tribunals with accurate records, smooth case progression, and first-class customer service.

What you’ll be doing:
* Manage day-to-day administration for court/tribunal hearings, meetings and operational activity
* Prepare papers, files and documents in line with guidelines, including standard letters, minutes and reports
* Create and update records on an in-house computer system, ensuring timely and accurate data input
* Open and dispatch post, support room bookings and preparation for training and group activities
* Clerking duties for civil and family courts and tribunals-ensuring papers and materials are up to date
* Assist court users, support listing/rota activity, and help keep files accurate and current
* Handle counter enquiries and respond to written/telephone questions face to face and remotely
* Verify and check documents, records, accounts, claims and returns against required criteria and procedures
* Collect, assemble and interpret information to prepare for key office meetings, including TIB (Team Information Board)
* Contribute to simple analysis and basic statistical reporting, and support reconciliation/admin tasks
* Use discretion and initiative to help continuous improvement within defined systems and processes

What you’ll bring:
* Strong administrative ability with confidence working accurately against procedures and instructions
* Excellent customer service-helpful, prompt and polite communication with the public and professional stakeholders
* A methodical approach to checking, verifying and recording information to quality standards
* Solid IT skills to create/update records and input data reliably
* The confidence to escalate complex matters to a team leader or supervisor when required
* Team mindset, with the ability to prioritise your own time and meet workload targets

Additional information:
* There may be flexibility to work at other local office locations on an ad hoc basis.
* You’ll work as part of a supportive team with regular management support, and there may be opportunities to help with limited supervision.
If you’re successful in your application a Basic DBS will be required as part of the on-boarding checks with Brook Street.
