About the RoleThis is an exciting opportunity for an enthusiastic, highly motivated, and qualified Teacher of Mathematics to join a dynamic secondary school on a full-time basis starting in September. The successful candidate will teach Mathematics across Key Stage 3 and Key Stage 4, with potential opportunities to teach Key Stage 5 for candidates with suitable experience. The post holder will be responsible for planning and delivering engaging, high-quality lessons that foster curiosity and confidence in mathematical reasoning.

Key Requirements*Qualified Teacher Status (QTS): Holds QTS, QTLS, or an equivalent recognised UK teaching qualification.
*Enhanced DBS: A valid Enhanced DBS clearance registered on the Update Service (or a willingness to apply for one).
*Up-to-date knowledge of the UK National Curriculum for Mathematics at Key Stages 3 and 4.
*Eligibility to Work: Valid legal entitlement to work full-time in the UK.
Key Skills*Pedagogical Knowledge: Deep understanding of mathematical concepts and effective teaching methods.
*Adaptability: Ability to tailor instructional approaches to suit varying student learning paces and styles.
*Communication: Excellent verbal and written skills to explain complex concepts clearly.
*Behaviour Management: Proactive strategies for maintaining order, mutual respect, and engagement in the classroom.
*Analytical Thinking: Skill in using pupil data to identify learning gaps and inform future planning.
*Empathy & Patience: Dedicated to supporting pupils through challenging topics and building their confidence.
Key Responsibilities*Plan and deliver clear, engaging, and well-structured Mathematics lessons across Key Stage 3 and Key Stage 4.
*Assess, record, and report on the development, progress, and attainment of students in line with departmental policies.
*Differentiate learning materials and teaching strategies to meet the diverse needs of all pupils, including those with SEND.
*Maintain high standards of classroom management and discipline to create a safe, respectful learning environment.
*Set meaningful homework and provide constructive, timely feedback to support continuous student improvement.
*Prepare students effectively for national examinations, including GCSE Mathematics assessments.
*Contribute to the continuous development of the school’s Mathematics scheme of work and shared curriculum resources.
*Collaborate closely with colleagues, senior leadership, and support staff to uphold high academic standards.
*Communicate regularly and professionally with parents and carers regarding student progress and welfare.
*Participate in departmental meetings, school-wide events, parents’ evenings, and ongoing professional development (CPD).
