Salary: £26,000 per year
Location: Stevenage, Hertfordshire
Hours: Monday to Friday, 8:30am–4:30pm
Reports to: General Manager


About the role


The company manufactures and repairs seat belts for a range of vehicles and applications. We are looking for a reliable, practical and conscientious Production Operative to join our team in Stevenage.


You will help manufacture, assemble and repair seat belt products, ensuring work meets the required quality standards and is prepared for dispatch on time. As our products are safety critical, attention to detail and the ability to follow instructions consistently are essential.


Main responsibilities


* Manufacture and assemble seat belts and related components in accordance with work instructions and specifications.
* Carry out seat belt repairs and webbing replacement following training and approved procedures.
* Prepare, measure and cut webbing and other materials accurately.
* Use production equipment and hand tools safely, undertaking only tasks for which you have been trained.
* Check materials, components and finished products for quality, reporting defects or concerns promptly.
* Complete production records accurately and maintain identification and traceability of work.
* Pack and prepare completed orders for dispatch.
* Support stock organisation and report shortages to help keep production running smoothly.
* Keep the workshop, equipment and work areas clean, tidy and organised.
* Follow health and safety procedures and support colleagues with other reasonable production duties.

Previous experience in manufacturing, assembly, upholstery or industrial sewing would be useful, but not essential.
