Full job descriptionCredit ControllerLocation: Cardiff
Salary: £30,000-£35,000 per annum
Working Pattern: Hybrid
An established and growing business based in Cardiff is looking to appoint an experienced Credit Controller to join its finance team.
This is an excellent opportunity for a confident and proactive credit professional to take ownership of a portfolio of customer accounts, maintain strong customer relationships and play an important role in supporting the company’s cash flow.
The RoleThe successful Credit Controller will be responsible for:
*Managing a portfolio of customer accounts and ensuring payments are received on time
*Proactively contacting customers by telephone and email regarding outstanding invoices
*Allocating and reconciling payments accurately
*Investigating and resolving invoice queries and disputes
*Monitoring aged debt and taking appropriate action to minimise overdue balances
*Agreeing payment plans where appropriate and following up on commitments
*Working closely with internal teams to resolve account queries
*Maintaining accurate and up-to-date customer records
*Preparing regular aged debt and credit control reports
*Escalating long-outstanding or high-risk accounts where necessary
*Supporting the wider finance team as required
About the CandidateThe ideal candidate will have previous experience in a credit control or accounts receivable position and will be confident managing customer accounts and collecting outstanding debt.
They will be:
*Confident communicating with customers by telephone and email
*Comfortable having professional but firm conversations regarding payment
*Highly organised with excellent attention to detail
*Confident working with figures and financial information
*Proactive and able to manage their own workload
*A strong problem solver with a commercial approach
*Comfortable using Excel and finance/accounting systems
Experience within a fast-paced finance environment would be advantageous.
