Salary: £27.79 to £32.29 per hour + VAT
Location: Preston
Job Type: Temporary - 8-12 weeks
Hours: Ideally 4 days per week, but we’ll consider 5 days for the right candidate
We’re working with a fantastic organisation to recruit a Temporary Finance Officer to join their finance team.

The role is initially expected to be around 8 to 12 weeks, with the potential for this to continue and a strong possibility of a permanent opportunity for the right person.
The organisation is looking for someone who is confident with transactional finance, can hit the ground running and will fit naturally into the existing team.
The Role
You’ll be supporting the finance team with a range of transactional duties, including:
• Processing purchase invoices

• Purchase ledger administration

• Banking and banking administration

• Preparing and processing payments

• Bank and other account reconciliations

• Dealing with finance queries

• Maintaining accurate and up-to-date financial records

• Supporting the wider finance team with general transactional finance duties
About You
We’re looking for someone with solid experience across transactional finance, ideally from a purchase ledger, accounts payable, finance assistant or bookkeeping background.
You’ll need to be someone who can come into a busy environment and get stuck in, with strong attention to detail and the confidence to manage your own workload.
You’ll ideally have:
• Experience within a transactional finance role

• Good purchase ledger and accounts payable experience

• Strong reconciliation skills

• Experience processing payments and working with banking systems

• Excellent attention to detail

• Good organisational skills and the ability to manage deadlines

• The confidence to pick up new systems and processes quickly
Experience of SAP Concur and/or Microsoft Dynamics Great Plains would be useful, but isn’t essential. We’re much more interested in someone with strong finance fundamentals who is comfortable learning new systems.
