Our client is an established analytical organisation supporting large-scale monitoring programmes and specialist projects across the environmental and regulated sectors. Based within a UKAS-accredited laboratory, they are now seeking an experienced LCMS Analyst to join their analytical team.
The role:
Working within the analytical laboratory, you will be responsible for the operation of LC–MS/MS instrumentation, supporting routine analysis, monitoring programmes and method development.
Key responsibilities will include:
*Operating single and triple quadrupole LC–MS/MS systems, including ESI/APCI.
*Carrying out routine instrument maintenance, troubleshooting and performance checks.

*Processing and interpreting chromatographic and mass spectral data and producing accurate reports.
*Supporting method optimisation and development, particularly for emerging and priority contaminants.
*Working closely with laboratory and project teams to ensure analytical work is delivered accurately and to agreed timescales.
Suitable applicants:
The key requirement for this position is strong practical experience operating LC–MS/MS instrumentation within a laboratory environment.
Applicants should ideally have:
*Proven experience with single and/or triple quadrupole LC–MS systems.
*Practical experience with Ionisation techniques (ESI and/or APCI).
*Experience working within an accredited or regulated analytical laboratory.
*Good understanding of LC–MS data interpretation, QC and reporting.
*Experience troubleshooting analytical methods and instrumentation.

*A BSc (2:1) in Chemistry or a related subject, or equivalent industrial experience.
Experience with Agilent ChemStation/MassHunter, PFAS or ultra-trace analysis would be advantageous.

This is a good opportunity to join an established analytical laboratory with exposure to a variety of monitoring programmes, emerging contaminants and method development projects.
The role offers scope to develop your technical expertise and, over time, progress towards Senior Analyst or Technical Lead responsibilities.
