A well-established and growing SME business is seeking an experienced Credit Controller to join its close-knit finance team. Your new role
As Credit Controller, you will be responsible for managing a designated sales ledger and maintaining strong relationships with customers to ensure timely payment of outstanding invoices. Reporting into the senior credit control function, you will play a key role in minimising financial risk, maximising cash collection, and resolving account queries efficiently.Key responsibilities will include:
*Chasing outstanding debts and making regular customer contact.
*Managing customer credit limits and monitoring account exposures.
*Setting up new customer accounts and carrying out credit checks.
*Building and maintaining positive customer relationships.
*Reconciling customer accounts and resolving payment queries.
*Ensuring aged debt remains at a minimum across your ledger.
*Delivering agreed credit control targets and KPIs.
*Supporting a positive team culture and contributing to a high-performing finance function.
What you’ll need to succeed
To be successful in this role, you will have previous experience within a credit control or accounts receivable environment and be confident in communicating with stakeholders at all levels.You will also demonstrate:
*Proven credit control experience.
*Excellent communication and relationship-building skills.
*Strong organisational abilities and attention to detail.
*Good Excel and Microsoft Office skills.
*A professional and customer-focused approach.
*Confidence in handling difficult conversations when required.
*The ability to investigate and resolve account queries effectively.
*Experience working within an SME environment would be advantageous.
*A proactive, adaptable, and resilient mindset.
