We are seeking an experiencedSenior Snowflake Developer to join our Data & Analytics team and play a key role in building and enhancing enterprise data platforms within a Financial Services environment.
The successful candidate will be responsible for designing, developing, and optimizing scalable cloud-based data solutions that support criticalRisk, Finance, Treasury, Regulatory, and Management Reporting capabilities. This role combines hands-on technical delivery with solution design, data architecture, and stakeholder engagement, requiring an individual who can translate complex business requirements into robust, enterprise-grade data solutions.
Main responsibilities:
Data Engineering & Solution Delivery
*Design, build, and maintain scalable data solutions on the Snowflake platform.
*Develop and optimize ELT/ETL pipelines to support enterprise reporting, analytics, and regulatory requirements.
*Design and implement dimensional, analytical, and operational data models.
*Develop and maintain reusable transformation frameworks using dbt.
*Build Python-based data processing, automation, and integration solutions.
*Develop data ingestion processes from multiple internal and external source systems.
*Support cloud migration and data platform modernization initiatives.
*Contribute to solution architecture, engineering standards, and platform design decisions.
Performance, Quality & Governance
*Optimize Snowflake databases, workloads, and SQL queries to improve performance, scalability, and cost efficiency.
*Implement data quality controls, reconciliation processes, and monitoring frameworks.
*Troubleshoot complex production, performance, and data integrity issues.
*Ensure solutions adhere to enterprise security, governance, and regulatory standards.
*Support code reviews, testing, release management, and CI/CD delivery practices.
*Maintain technical documentation and promote engineering best practices across the data platform.
Stakeholder Engagement
*Partner with business stakeholders to gather requirements and translate them into scalable technical solutions.
*Lead workshops, discovery sessions, and solution design discussions.
*Collaborate effectively with business users, data architects, developers, and project teams.
*Communicate complex technical concepts to both technical and non-technical audiences.
*Provide technical leadership and guidance throughout project delivery.
Skills required:
*7+ years of experience in Data Engineering, Data Warehousing, or Analytics Platform Development.
*3+ years of hands-on Snowflake development experience within large-scale enterprise environments.
*Strong expertise in Snowflake architecture, performance optimization, security, and data modelling.
*Advanced SQL development and database optimization skills.
*Strong experience with dbt for data transformation, testing, deployment, and modelling.
*Advanced Python programming skills for data engineering and automation.
*Proven experience designing and implementing enterprise-scale ETL/ELT solutions.
*Strong understanding of - Data Warehousing principles, Dimensional Modelling and Star Schema design, Data Architecture and Data Governance, Data Quality and Performance Optimization
*Experience with Git-based source control and CI/CD deployment practices.
*Proven experience within Banking or Financial Services organizations.
Desired skills:
*Control-M, AutoSys, or equivalent workload scheduling tools.
*Microsoft BI technologies including SSIS, SSRS, and SSAS.
*Power BI and enterprise reporting platforms.
*Azure Data Services, Azure Data Factory, or similar cloud data technologies.
*Experience delivering cloud migration and data modernization programs.
*Knowledge of real-time or near real-time data processing architectures.
*Exposure to Artificial Intelligence, Generative AI, or Machine Learning solutions.
