People Solutions are currently recruiting for Driver’s Mates to join our well-established client based in Marchington.
This is an urgent requirement offering £13.64 per hour, guaranteed full-time hours, Monday to Friday working, immediate starts and the opportunity to secure a permanent position. You’ll be supporting home deliveries within a busy logistics operation, with full training provided.

This position is ideal for applicants looking for a role as a Driver’s Mate, Driver’s Assistant, Delivery Assistant or Driver Helper.
Important: You must be able to drive and have your own transport to reach Marchington for start times as early as 4:00am.

Day-to-Day Duties
As a Driver’s Mate, your duties will include (but are not limited to):
• Assisting drivers with deliveries to customers’ homes
• Loading and unloading products safely from delivery vehicles
• Carrying out manual handling duties, including heavy lifting
• Supporting drivers with route completion and delivery paperwork
• Providing excellent customer service at delivery locations
• Following health and safety procedures throughout each shift
• Working effectively with the driver to complete scheduled deliveries
Essential Skills
To be successful as a Driver’s Mate, you will need:
• Ability to drive and access to your own transport
• Ability to travel to Marchington for starts as early as 4:00am
• Ability to carry out physically demanding work, including heavy lifting
• Reliable and punctual approach
• Good teamwork and communication skills
• Positive attitude and willingness to work hard
• Commitment to following safe manual handling procedures
Desirable Experience
• Previous experience as a Driver’s Mate or Delivery Assistant
• Previous home delivery or logistics experience
• Previous experience in a physically demanding role
Training Provided
• Site assessment required before starting
• Site induction
• Manual handling training
• Industry-related training and ongoing support throughout your assignment
