Job Description:
Full job descriptionWant a Credit Controller role where you’re trusted to manage your accounts properly? You’ll join a friendly, open finance team within a growing, private equity-backed organisation, with 25 days’ holiday plus bank holidays and CICM study support. This is a permanent role with plenty of customer contact. You’ll take ownership of consumer debt, resolve billing issues and have the confidence to handle difficult payment conversations when needed.
Reporting to the Credit Manager, you will be responsible for:
*Chasing customers for outstanding payments by telephone and email
*Managing overdue accounts and following up on promises to pay
*Resolving billing queries and discrepancies
*Setting up and maintaining direct debits, including dealing with failed payments
*Allocating incoming payments accurately and clearing unallocated cash
*Placing accounts on stop and sending collection letters where required
*Keeping clear account notes and escalating more complex cases when necessary
What you will need:
*Previous experience in a similar Credit Controller, Accounts Receivable, Collections or Billing role, ideally around five years
*Experience chasing consumers for payment rather than solely business-to-business collections
*Confidence chasing outstanding debt
*Good organisation and accuracy when managing accounts and allocating payments
*Intermediate Excel skills and confidence learning finance and billing systems
What you will get:
*CICM study support and investment in your professional development
*25 days’ holiday plus bank holidays
*One day working from home each week
*A friendly and open team environment
