Are you a confident, qualified finance leader ready to take ownership of a dynamic SME finance function? We’re set to recruit a Financial Controller for a highly respected engineering and manufacturing business based in the West Midlands.

This is a rare opportunity to work closely with a superb Finance Director who is part of a wider group leadership team. You’ll be stepping into a pivotal role, managing a high-performing finance team, and playing a key part in shaping the company’s strategic direction.

Why This Role?*Leadership & Autonomy: Own the full finance function, including statutory reporting, forecasting, and compliance across UK and international entities.
*Strategic Influence: Work directly with the MD and Group FD on business planning, reporting, and performance improvement.
*Team Culture: Lead a collaborative and capable team in a business that values emotional intelligence, empathy, and integrity.
*Group Exposure: Be the key contact for all finance matters across the UK, US, and India operations.
What We’re Looking For*A qualified accountant (ACA/ACCA/CIMA) with experience leading finance in an SME.
*Strong systems knowledge (Excel, Sage Line 50, MRP).
*Experience in engineering or manufacturing environments.
*A confident communicator with a hands-on approach and commercial mindset.
Desirable Extras*Knowledge of UK GAAP, US GAAP, and international trade finance.
*Experience with FRS102, contract accounting, and employment law.
