Full job descriptionAs a Credit Controller in Guildford, you will manage credit control activity within the retail sector, helping the Accounting & Finance department keep customer payments on track. You will maintain clear account records and follow up outstanding balances so the business has accurate, up-to-date information.

*Review customer account balances and identify overdue payments for timely follow-up.
*Contact customers by phone and email to request payment and resolve outstanding queries.
*Maintain accurate notes and payment records on customer accounts.
*Allocate incoming payments correctly to ensure account balances remain up to date.
*Investigate payment discrepancies and work with relevant colleagues to reach a clear resolution.
*Send account statements, payment reminders and other agreed customer correspondence.
*Prepare clear updates on overdue balances to support day-to-day financial reporting.
*Keep customer credit information organised and up to date for effective account management.
Profile
A successful ’Credit Controller’ should have:
*Experience managing customer accounts and following up overdue payments.
*Confidence speaking with customers by phone and writing clear payment correspondence.
*Good attention to detail when updating account records and allocating payments.
*Ability to investigate payment queries and resolve discrepancies accurately.
*Comfort working with financial information and maintaining organised records.
*Ability to prioritise outstanding balances and complete follow-up actions promptly.
