Company profileTyneside and Northumberland Mind was founded in 1981 and has over 40 years of experience providing mental health support to people across Tyneside and Northumberland.Tyneside and Northumberland Mind exists to promote positive mental health. We provide flexible, responsive and sustainable support services. We put people first and welcome the involvement of our community to make our services as responsive and supportive as can be. We want every person to have the ability to live full lives and play their full part in society.Tyneside and Northumberland Mind are affiliated to the national charity Mind and operate as part of the local Mind network. We share learning, knowledge and best practice with local Mind’s throughout the country and the national charity and aim to inspire growth and development that will benefit everyones mental wellbeing, including those of neighbouring local Mind organisations.Tyneside and Northumberland Mind charity are independently governed and managed. We have a dedicated board of trustees and a team of passionate people delivering essential mental health services throughout the region. We are a charity of expert-by-experience team members, and raise all of our own funds which are spent solely in this region and support the mental health of local people.Our services use the Recovery model and are focused on improving an individuals wellbeing. They are based on the principles and practices of person’s centred planning and self-directed support. From one-to-one counselling, wellbeing groups, peer-support projects, training to meet educational needs, events, workshops, and so much more. We aim to support local people with the very best in mental health support. Whether that be with direct services, partnership programmes, or awareness raising activities.We believe no one should face a mental health issue alone, and are here because of our community for our community.
